Summary

The Brand Manager is responsible for developing and executing brand marketing strategies that drive sustainable growth and profitability. The role oversees brand health and performance by strengthening brand equity and perception, while delivering on key business metrics such as market share, volume, revenue, and profitability.

Responsibilities

· Develop and implement brand marketing strategies (considering the marketing mix) to drive the achievement of business goals and financial targets.

· Lead the development, implementation and periodic review of the brand’s long, medium and short term initiatives in line with the agreed marketing strategy.

· Actively manage brand performance through regular evaluation of key brand performance indicators (volume, revenue, profitability, brand health, market share) and leverage this information to optimise performance.

· Develop effective marketing communication and brand building initiatives (above-to-line, below-the-line, traditional and digital marketing) to drive brand equity, financial performance and market share.

· Manage product pricing to ensure sustainable profitability whilst ensuring market competitiveness.

· Actively source customer/market insights (including competitor intelligence) in order to develop a strong understanding of the customer/market, unearth key need-states or gaps and fill these to improve our market competitiveness.

· Develop new innovation ideas based on solid market/ customer insights to uncover incremental growth opportunities.

· Effectively manage marketing resources to ensure high return on investment.

· Work closely with internal and external stakeholders – sales, technical, supply chain, trade partners, licensing partners (AkzoNobel) – to ensure delivery of overall business objectives.

· Manage Assistant Brand Manager/Brand Executive/Graduate Trainee to ensure optimum performance and development.

Requirements

Minimum of a first degree in marketing, social sciences, relevant course or equivalent marketing professional qualification. A higher degree (MBA, masters, or post-graduate qualification) would be an added advantage.
